Week 11(Manantiales 2)

Hey mom! I love you! Please don't get mad, but this past Wednesday I lost my little wallet id holder and in it was my driver's license, the debit card from the mission, and my chase debit card. They cancelled the mission debit card, and they tried to call you today but couldn't reach you to cancel the chase card. I was on a bus when I lost it and I don't know what happened. We waited for the bus to come back around but they said they couldn't find it. For the id issue, they gave me my green card to carry and they were going to research about it to see what I need to do since I don't have my driver's license. I also lost 25 pesos but that isn't really that much money. I am sorry, and I have been praying and fasted for it last Thursday for it to be returned and I feel like this is a test of my faith, patience, and trust in Heavenly Father. And I haven't gotten a package yet. I will forward you the email, I don't know if you still have it. It has information about mailing that you need.
But other than that, I found my third cousin! He is actually in my zone! And he goes home next week, so that was fun! And tomorrow I am having an exchange for a day. I am staying here in our area and Hermana Cuevas is going somewhere else for the day. I am kinda slightly nervous about it and I am afraid that I am going to get lost, haha. Hopefully it goes well and I don't biff an entire day! Today with the zone we got together and watched a movie called Ephraim's Rescue and ate pizza. It was pretty great. We were going to play soccer but we didn't have enough time unfortunately.
So I am getting more comfortable with my Spanish skills! I feel pretty confident, even though I turn to Hermana Cuevas occassionally to see if I conjugated a verb correctly, haha. Also I feel like I know slightly more people in the ward. It is crazy to think that I have already been here for 5 weeks! Almost a whole transfer! Crazy! I might just have 6 more weeks with Hermana Cuevas, and when she leaves it is going to be so weird, I think. Although I think that I will be able to adjust. I think I have already adjusted to Mexico too, which is crazy, haha. It is so normal for me to just talk to people in Spanish even if I don't have a complete vocabulary and correct grammar all the time. I do however speak quite a bit of English to Hermana Cuevas, which I should probably stop doing because I should use the mission language as much as possible. So I think I will stop speaking English for a while unless I can't explain something proficient enough in Spanish. This is week 6! That means I am using the final pages of my planner! That is crazy! It felt just like yesterday when it was week 2! Wow time flies! Speaking of flies there is one here right now that keeps flying in my face, I don't really appreciate it. And this past Saturday we had a training meeting for the trainers and the trainees (I am one of the latter) and I got to see Elder Whiting, West, and June and Hermana Swan and Hermana Cox and it was great!!! This Thursday we have a Zone conference with President Christensen and that sounds like it will be fun, missionary style! Haha.
So we are pretty close with the family of the Ward Mission Leader and it is pretty great becuase they feed us a couple times a week, and if we are in the area and need to go to the bathroom they let us come in and use it. So yeah, that is great. Also our District leader is pretty great and he and his companion together is super funny, they are always laughing at each other. Also at the bottom of the their text messages they say, "Elder Estes y Elder Garcia, the Dynamic Duo". It is pretty great. The last Sunday of February all of the missionaries and the Ward Mission Leader are giving talks about Missionary Work because we don't really get that much help from the ward in the work. It is kinda a sad and also a little frustrating because members give the work quality and also make the work easier for us missionaries! References from members have a greater success rate than contacts on the street. And we need members in lessons and it is easier to make that happen if the investigators are friends of a member!
I love the work, it really is exciting seeing people making discoveries and I am growing, I am pretty sure I am a slightly different person than I was 2.5 months ago. The mission is hard, but it is worth it!
Love you all, stay excellent!
Hermana Newhard
